FAQs

Have more questions? Email us any time!

What is a herd share?

A herd share means you become a partial owner of our dairy cow herd. Instead of buying raw milk (which is illegal to sell), you receive milk from your own animals. We care for the animals, and you pay a monthly boarding fee.

Is raw milk legal?

Selling raw milk is illegal in Ohio. However, owning a dairy animal and consuming its milk is legal. A herd share is a legal way to access fresh, local raw milk through ownership.

Is milk available year-round?

No. Our herd is seasonal. Milk starts in spring when cows calve (freshen) and ends in late fall or early winter when the herd dries off. This is natural dairy farming.

Can I skip a pickup?

Yes, but you must notify us before the order cutoff day and time to receive a credit. If you don't notify us and your milk is delivered, no refund or credit will be given. Unclaimed milk becomes farm property.

Is raw milk safe?

Raw milk is not pasteurized. Many people drink it for its flavor and potential health benefits, but it may contain harmful bacteria that can cause serious illness. By joining, you assume full responsibility for the risks.

How do I pick up my milk?

Pickup days, times, and locations are set by us. You are responsible for picking up your milk during the designated window. Farm access is at your own risk.

Can I visit the farm?

Yes, during designated pickup hours or by invitation for a scheduled visit. Please follow all farm rules, supervise children, and do not enter animal areas unless accompanied by staff.
